Earth blasted by one of the most intense geomagnetic storms seen in years !
GEOMAGNETIC STORM: Earth’s magnetic field has been strongly disturbed since approximately 1300 UT on Sept. 26th when a CME hit our planet. The impact strongly compressed the magnetosphere, exposing geosynchronous satellites to solar wind plasma, and ignited auroras around both poles. A strong-to-severe geomagnetic storm occurred today following the impact of a coronal mass ejection (CME) at approximately 12:15 UT on Sept. 26th. The Goddard Space Weather Lab reports a “strong compression of Earth’s magnetosphere. Simulations indicate that solar wind plasma has penetrated close to geosynchronous orbit starting at 13:00UT.” Geosynchronous satellites could therefore be directly exposed to solar wind plasma and magnetic fields. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for Northern and Southern Lights after nightfall. (More @ Space Weather).
The sheer force of the geomagnetic storm impacting the planet is seen below, indicating the strongest impact on the planet’s magnetosphere in this simulation by NICT. The K-Index reached 8 and the solar wind speed doubled with a proton density count that spiked near 10 protons/cm3. Elsewhere in the United States, auroras have been sighted in New York, South Dakota, and Maine. More states will surely join the list as the night unfolds. Stay tuned !
BIG SUNSPOTS
The source of all this solar and geomagnetic activity is sunspot AR1302. Measuring more than 150,000 km from end to end, the sprawling active region is visible even without a solar telescope. Fabiano Belisário Diniz saw it plainly in last night’s sunset from Curitiba, Brazil.
“It was overcast and cold all day long, but at the end of the day a break in the clouds revealed the sun and AR1302,” says Diniz. “What a great sight!”

i must admit i waited with baited breath for sept. 26, 27, 28th …but was happily disappointed when nothing transpired
however
it makes you kind of think about scientific data also Comet Elenin’s path was charted it was spotted it was tracked
it was photographed so how can they explain total non-appearance of something that was there so physically
umm…no remnants at all???
which leads me to think privately exactly how “accurate” are our scientific calculations? Or is there an umm “oops” factor there too?
if Elenin has indeed disintegrated are Oct. 17th and Nov. 11th still significant dates? hmm…one doesn’t know until it is upon us

It’s just like I said before. Elenin was just an ordinary rock of ice, that has nothing to do with all this quakes. This whole nibiru stuff was just complet nonsense. There will be no doomsday at all, not today and not in in all our lifetime. Even 2012 is not the end of anything, it’s just the beginning of a new earth age cycle. Hopefully a better one that in witch we live now.
yeah, it’s the 28th..but…we are in the cross-hairs of sunspot 1302 and we still have another 1.5 days in the path of any solar flare or cme that blows away towards the earth…a carrington event would alter all of our lives instantaneously.

I was curious to see if anything would happen during the alignment, but as of now, it’s September 27th in the evening and so far no earthquakes, no blackening of the sun and no visual sign of elenin? I think I need to quit listening to all these conspiracy theorist and start realizing we live on faith alone. Reading about all the possibilities of destruction and biblical predictions that could take place on this earth are quite interesting, yet it all sort of depresses me knowing everyone is wrong. I so look forward to signs from God that there is about to be a change in our era, but as of now I am doubting anything would ever happen in our lifetime. And if so, it will be in years to come. People predict so many things throughout the years and end up being wrong. I think it just arouses people to think something outrageous will happen and never does. Yes, I am one of those curious and secretly hoping something will happen type of person, but for now I think I’m done reading about predictions and sap. I will just let the good lord tell me himself when it is time for a change! Although Alamongordo, I do and will continue to read your post for the fact I like to know what goes on in this crazy world, but as for unpredictable universe and natural events, I’ll leave that up to God.
I agree with shayla. I do believe things are happening and age going to happen very soon, but we can not prodect when god is going to bring judgement on the earth and when he is ready, all those that are true to him and are his followers he will warn them personaly and they will understand spiritualy and will be protected. So till then I believe Jesus is comming back every day and need to be ready every day for this will.
Just seen a UFO which looked like a grey orb cruising at a steady speed then shot off at a high speed. The object did not make a sound nore did it have lights but seem to have its own glow. Trust this to be happening on this day.
anyways the fear created for 26-27 sep ended……..Nothings ever gonna happen the way …….he solar activity / cosmic activity shall continue in itsown way and is in none of our control…..anyways I have been reading your site but on the evening of 27th Sep 2011 I find nothing as you guys predicted…better take up some good work and focus on it than waiting a time for apocalypse which I think is still many thousand years away……In a big world small earthquakes keep on happeneng on some or the other part of the world…..himalayan plate has a problem and we see earthquakes right from Afghan border to sikkim (indochina) almost every 3 years.(small and very small tremours keep on happening every now and then……
