Comet Elenin Update
It’s nearly 100 million miles away and barreling toward us. The intruder from deep space, called comet Elenin, crosses Earth’s orbit on its inbound leg and again on its outbound swing around the sun later this year. Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin discovered the innocuous little comet on Dec. 10, 2010, at International Scientific Optical Network’s robotic observatory near Mayhill, New Mexico.
Presently the comet is a faint smudge of light in deep sky exposures. Comet Elenin will become visible to the naked eye any day now as a dim “fuzzy star” with a tail. Over a couple of days the comet will speed across the spring constellation Virgo and toward Leo on its outbound leg.
A dizzying collection of doomsday predictions have been linked to comet Elenin. The hysteria was inevitable as anxiety grows over the approach of 2012 — that is supposedly a game-changing year for life on Earth. At least according to some interpretations of the ancient Mayan calendar. If you believe the gobbledygook on numerous websites and YouTube videos, this is a “renegade comet” that just couldn’t wait for 2012 to mess with the Earth.
Though it’s at the moment almost at it’s closest point to our Sun (9/11/11), exactly 10 years after the 9/11 attacks … mmm … comet Elenin has already been blamed for triggering earthquakes and shifting Earth’s rotation axis. The comet has also been accused of melting ice on Mars and stirring up a storm on Saturn. It’s predicted to flip Earth’s magnetic field as Edgar Cayce predicted (Read Yesterdays Article).
And that’s just the beginning. There are numerous “Cometgate” allegations of news media and government cover-up, and the existence of hidden comet shelters for U.S. officials. The timing of the Messengers spacecraft’s deceleration in orbit around Mercury in March 2011 was also suspect because our innermost planet aligned with Comet Elenin on March 9-10 th, just before the massive 9.0 Japan EarthQuake on March 11 th. Messenger successfully entered Mercury orbit on 18 March 2011 with no reported problems. The craft’s science instruments were reactivated 24 March, with a first photo returned from Mercury orbit on 29 March. Its formal science data collection mission began on 4 April 2011.
Elenin Reality Check
Comet Elenin will sweep nearest to Earth on Oct. 17 at a distance of 21 million miles and be moving fast enough to travel the distance from Earth to the moon in under five hours! The effects of the comet on Earth at closest approach will be as inconsequential as that of a mosquito slamming head-on into an ocean-going supertanker scientist say but still … humankind have not unlocked all secrets of the Universe so …
Let’s look at the physics. Comet Elenin is a loose agglomeration of volatile ices and dust a few miles across according to NASA. It is therefore one hundred billionth the mass of our moon. (The relative difference is roughly the same as the mass of a mosquito vs. the mass of an oil supertanker.) The comet will pass no closer to us than 84 times the Earth-moon distance.
Applying Isaac Newton’s laws of gravity, this means the comet’s tidal pull on Earth — at closest approach — will be approximately one-hundred trillionth the force of the moon’s tidal pull on Earth. And, we all now know that on March 19th 2011 there was a Supermoon, there was the Japan Quake on the 11th (8 Days before the Supermoon) and on the 24th the massive Myanmar quake (5 Days after the Supermoon) suggesting other planets can trigger earthquakes.

Normally comets get the worst end of the deal when they venture near larger bodies, just like that mosquito slamming into the supertanker. Some comets dive-bomb the sun routinely. What happens? They disintegrate into pieces. But the sun is much larger than Earth … The same held true for comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 that was ripped apart by tidal forces when it ventured too close to Jupiter. When the comet pieces plunged into Jupiter in 1994, the planet simply belched a few mushroom clouds from titanic impact explosions. But again Jupiter is much bigger than our planet, we should watch what will happen on Mars the 28th of August 2011, maybe we can detect some “MarsQuakes” or changes on the surface of our Red Neighbour.
On May 11, 1983 comet IRAS-Araki-Alcock swept within 3 million miles of Earth, 7 times closer than Elenin will come and one of the closest comet approaches in modern times. The visitor looked as big as the full moon and sped across a wide swath of sky in just a few days. That same day saw an explosion of protests in Santiago, Chile against the decade-long rule of General Augusto Pinochet. Maybe there are yet unknown powers in the universe that can make people change … That is what some old texts say, we are one with the Universe … The great change that is expected in 2012 could have started with the “Arab Spring” although i don’t think that the changes the Arab Spring will bring are changes for the good.
The closest ever-recoded flyby of Earth was comet Lexell in 1770, which passed at 1.4 million miles. On Jan. 26th that year a magnitude 9 earthquake took place off the west coast of the North America. Similarly, many “coincidences” will happen this year say some, that people will want to blame on comet Elenin.
The most bizarre “link” is that the comet’s closest approach to the sun happens on the 10th anniversary of the combined terrorist attacks on the U.S. “Is it a “coincidence” that Elenin could be seen as “Elevennine” 9/11 backwards” … Some say “coincidence doesn’t exist“. All things happen for a reason … In the cosmic scheme of things, comet Elenin is simply a nice target for backyard sky watchers to follow. But Earth as a planet isn’t phased at all … Or is it ?

Prayer is communion with God. it is to align ourselves with God’s desires and draw us close our troubles.
To Michael, obviously being a Christian is being “of Christ,” who said to some disciples, “Go sell what you have, give to the poor and come follow me.” No matter how one takes such words, and they also apply to “whosever will,” they are not fitting to either your question or to Christians praying primarily for themselves and their wants of convenience. The question is for everyone though, will we see this man as more than a man, or do we feel no pull to Him, other than to poke fun of His “disciples”? You might be surprised that your interest in the poor images of Christ, are still powerful enough to suggest the warrant of Christ, seeing that the lesser photocopies still warrant utmost veneration for the Original.
Very cool “The Saint” and I would add that due to the current financial crisis that so many of us are in, many cannot afford survival kits or underground bunkers etc. that so many say to have. It is predicted in the Bible that at the end of time, God will destroy the world by fire. That is naturally frightening to contemplate, because it impies intense pain and sufering. However, I would rather suffer here on earth than in the fires of Hell. I suggest people quickly go to Confession to a real Catholic priest, not a Vatican II priest, go to Holy Mass and receive the True Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, not the novus ordo Mass which is totally heretical and invalid, and stay in sanctifying grace–do not commit mortal sin. Then no matter how one dies or how painfully one might be asked to give his life, one will be sure to die in peace. In the hearts of Jesus and Mary!
Every 365 days our Gregorian calendar comes to an end on December 31st and starts again on Jan. 1st. Every 26,000 years the Mayan calendar comes to an end and starts anew the next day. The rest of the stories are baseless hype.
Elenin is a wee little comet. It will zip around the sun and disappear without ever so much as a tear being shed. All else being said about it is baseless hype.
Planet X and Nibiru don’t exist. If they did, every skywatcher and every university that staffs the great telescopes would be publishing papers on their existence.

I’m always baffled by those who claim “materialism” is the evil that will destroy us. There is nothing evil about wanting luxuries and comfort that comes from hard work and success. God wants us to be successful. I personally know many good Christian people who live a very nice life with all the trappings and toys that come with wealth. They are not evil people. They love God and their fellow man as much as anyone. Their “materialism” is not going to send them straight to hell.
And the last person to warn others against the evils of materialism is the pope! I’ve been to the Vatican and if riches and wealth is a requisite for eternal damnation then the pope has a one-way ticket!
Those trappings have come at the cost of others suffering. Jesus said it is harder for the rich to enter heaven. I believe Him over your opinion. I look at myself. What have I done with the wealth I was blessed with? Our wealth in the US is causing wars, poverty, massive pollution in other countries, slave labor and on and on. Why do I have wealth. To ignore suffering or to do something about it?
As a theoretical physicist I can not understand where You get these crazy ideas from: apparently You do not know/understand anything about basic electro-dynamics, theories of gravity, astrophysics or quantum physics.
Just because You personally have some misguided belief, does not make it so. You need to back Your claimes with proof, not with fuzzy arguments.
And, what are Your plans for 2013 and beyond? Or is it a global cover-up/conspiracy when the world does not end in Dec.2012 ( alt. Oct.2011 ) as it did not come to an end on any of the other dates “prophesized”?

I agree go to a different blog. If You have some useful information tell us, but if You just want to come around trolling bug off. But I assume You know that this is all possibilities (ie theories) being a theoretical physicist.
If the moon makes our oceans rise and fall several feet, why can’t you conceive that other planitary alignments affect earth. Study geology and natural disasters and extinction events. There are patterns. So you explain the reason earthquakes occur in intervals. The moon itself was created by a violent collision that almost destroyed earth. Speculation is wild because data is scarse on Elenin and there are blotted out areas that make in places like Google sky where Elenin should be.
Natural disasters abound so why scoff when people prepare. Even a 3 day food supply helps buy you time.
But I also would point out that no matter what Elenin is or other Doomsday scenario I have read, they all come to be like Pandora’s box. Earth is a violent geological place and humans have survived. in all the prophecies, theories, conspiracies if you take them all the way through, there is Hope and God. And the more I study, the more I find the answer is to find God, hope, know we have survived, know God will defeat evil and our job is to love in the midst of crisis. Help your neighbor. Take care of your earth for it is our food supply.
Forgot to address the theoretical physicist. Your whole field is theoretical. Changing theories to describe phenomenon as more data comes in. You cannot even say how many universes exist, how many dimensions, what the heck is gravity in the first place, what the substance of ” space” consists of, the behavior of particles and why they change when observed. I could go on. So since no one has actually touched Elenin, everyone has theories and guesses. You have no scientific basis for concluding these theories proposed are wrong until their hypotheses are proven false.
A magnetic cloud is incurring as it has done periodically every 5,000 yrs. The reason we have a 10,000 yr ‘history’ is that 10,000 y ago was the last time Earth passed to the back side of the double layer plasma sheath. The 5,000 y ago event was the same as now, compression due to being in front of the cloud; all our weather changes are due to this compression.
If there is a comet/planet in the cloud, it might be a neutron star (typically less than 15 m in diameter), the source of the gravity/magnetic anomaly in Sol’s system. There may be many other bodies in the cloud hence all the terminology of names.
Objects identified in the neighborhood of Sol should be associated with the sun, and not assumed to be missed on their way into our system.
The time of greatest concern will be when the magnetic field drops suddenly which may be the beginning of 2013. Gravity does not bend space, magnetism does.
Doomsday thinking will only cause your individual life to crumble and cause you to die as you believe you will. The answer to all this gloom is to live your love as an example to others so it minimizes the fear in the world and lights a way for other people to follow to peace, love, beauty and harmony. (You get what you think about), Even if there is devestation of the earth, floods and famine, there is nothing to fear, if you realize that nature is just cleansing the earth fo all toxic substances, which includes those people who refuse to open their hearts and purify their minds. Meditate and read “The New Paradigm” so you are able to move easily through the challenge that lay ahead for you, and emerge on the other side with new insight and strength!
Very true Living faith – Some call it oneness when it is We as one. Similarily to the bible, to think negatively only creates more negativity…To save ourselves with or without impending doom by a commet, pole shift or riots in the street, our only real hope to accept, love and live with one another, and do our best to make all of our lives better.

lol,how you associate my posted comment with preaching is truly interesting, and as far as scaring people, my post was not meant to be read by children,however if your mommy or daddy allowed you to read it, thats none of my business…ask them to maybe buy you some childrens books with some fun pictures or maybe perhaps one of the many animated fantasy movies that are available ,there not expensive at all….however if your parents continue to allow you to read stories or posted comments that are meant for adults and pre-college high school 12th graders that maybe are doing some sort of research for a paper, as I said, its none of my business what they allow you to read, however in the future most likely I wont be able to reply to you as I dont have time for childrens comments that their parents allowed them to post in reference to 2012…quite honestly I find it very shocking that they allow you to read things that are meant for adults…so as soon as you get a chance ask them if they can get you something more fun for you to read or maybe one of those movies I suggested,… I assure you ..your life will be much more enjoyable.. and alot less scary for you….I mean hey, how can a child not enjoy a movie about purple unicorns and dancing butterflies, or a cartoon picture book of a super hero that saves the world…. well anyway try my suggestions and see if they work for you….it will be much more healthy for you at such a young age…Im sure of it ! see ya bye bye.. i read somewhere in the Jewish calendar that either 1st of Sept or 11th of Sept is actually the birth of Jesus Christ. Everybody (almost everybody) knows that it is not December 25th. (Are you kidding me?) I knew that long ago when i was a child that Jesus wasn’t born on Dec 25th. This is all not new to us who read Revelations. The prophercies of John is unfolding as we are experiencing all these now. To some, it is scary and a feeling of “doomed”, and the rest we welcome this change in the world. The world today needs a “wake-up” call. God has been sending so many signals, latest one was the earthquake in the east coast of US and then Hurricane Irene is approaching anytime today/tomorrow but people still refuse to open their hearts to Jesus. They are still trying to explain all these things away. Just like what was mentioned in Revelation. So God will continue to send more signals until we all GET IT into our thick skulls! It is funny looking at many people who have Christian names like Michael, Gabriel, John etc but yet they do not have any connections to their names spiritually. The last time Pope John Paul visited the US, he warned George Bush that America is spirralling down the abyss of materialism and that they have to REPENT. Of course the Pope read Revelations and knew about what is to come. That is why Japan is suffering now. After the Tsunami in Japan, one of the cabinet minister said “This is a retribution” and later had to apologize on national television for making that remark. But what he said makes sense. What you sow, you reap.
Does Jesus has to be in your face for you to believe that he is the Christ? Like Doubting Thomas? Unless he sees Jesus with his own eyes and touch the wounds he will not believe. And Jesus said “Blessed are those who have never seen me yet believe”.
Just as I am writing this, the news is showing a meteor over Peru. So, the Mayans are given this signal and they know the time is NOW. So please, i’m asking you to just read Revelations now. It is not too late.
Although I feel, truely feel that things are changing I have also grown to know that it has been our questioning, our hope, our unknowing and lack of understanding of death that we believe in “god”. It isn’t that god doesn’t exist, it’s that we have created him. It is our own manifestation of our prayers and energies that give us the faith of what our beliefs have created…God is within us. If we find it, we will change, merely because we wouldn’t be searching any longer. The acceptance comes when we realize the one god is the one that we have created – energy.
I haven’t found any info related to the 1770 earthquake in North America. But there was a 7.5 earthquake that year (June) in Haiti…

Bad feeling coming to “D day”
It baffles me that all the so called great minds,seem to think that because there is not a large asteroid so far headed to earth with impact guaranteed. or a comet or some sort of x planet coming that there will be no doomsday scenario for 2012…this is just baffling to me that they would come to this conclusion and to see them telling everyone there is nothing going to happen..with such conviction and confidence,its amazing to say the least….So I say this to anyone out there that reads my post here,and listen carefully ITS NOT AN ASTEROID OR COMET…in 2012 the earth will be crossing the cosmic plane,and at that junction may experience very strong gravitational fluctuations,also at that very same time the sun as we know it will be at the peak of an enormous eruption of solar flares,and solar storms that we have never seen at this magnitude before,sending massive waves of solar winds straight for us here on earth…it is also i might add at this very same time the earth will be in its natural 26,000 yr tilting of its axis..and an alignment of many objects earth included in this alignment…we will lose all electricity world wide 3 days later TOTAL CHAOS ensues…most food will have spoiled, everthing will have come to a halt and we will descend into a hideous world of cannabalism,wholesale rape and murder and just outright insanity….on a global basis !!!
If your lucky you will die in the massive floods and fires that will be caused by our moon moving out of its position ,due to the gravitational tug of war between the forces that we will experience crossing the cosmic plane in 2012…please note the moon does not have to move very much at all to trigger enormous flooding and massive earthquakes let alone the huge volcanic eruptions thats goes along with the moon being even just a little out of sync with our earth…and this not counting the fact that if the solar winds and its electromagnetic mega storms happen to rip a hole in our protective outer layers in our atmosphere in which this could very easily happen, we will all be dead in a very short time due to radiation poisoning….So when all the great minds and various people with there very confident attitudes toward this 2012 issue tell you there is nothing to worry about just let it go in one ear and out the other, the same way they let there high dollar college learning go in one ear out the other,just long enough to get there diplomas…
First of all Mother Shipton the 2012 date is not even the genuine end of the Mayan Calendar. It is October 28th, 2011 — so the whole 2012 doomsday scenarist is almost kaput! The Mayan’s speak of a Consciousness Convergence, not the end of Humankind, which is exactly what is happening. Read up and educate yourself with research, @ mayanmajixcom …. your fearmongering will soon stop when u realize it’s ultimately about having courage no matter WHAT happens and losing the useless fear.
yes i know about oct, 2011…the reason I use 2012 is because its the date the largest majority of people somewhat know about… if you start throwing 2011 out there people are going to be even further perplexed in trying to understand anything about this upcoming event…and I assure you ive done plenty when it comes to researching all this…however I cant blame you for your assumptions because that seems to be the norm nowadays for any important issues,people seem to just start assuming things without even understanding what they just read,because if you had read and understood what read you would not have said basically my posts are fearmongering to the weak and ignorant…if you understood the posts they are simply scenarios that could possibly happen as we cross the plane,into the new dimension ( our new position in space is all this means ) and the new begining , and end of time as we know it , and as they new it….. are all explained in those postings…you need to really read things more carefully…. so when you mention that the mayans mean were gonna have a (consciouse convergance ) your telling me that there astronomers tediously studied the star systems with great effort obviously, and turned to the King and said …on this date all you peoples brains are gonna be thinking in a certain way…is that what you are saying…do you realize how ridiculous that sounds and this is your theory on what you think the Mayans mean in there calender?? You are right,the mayan calander ends on oct 28 2011,i don’t think it’s a coincidence elinin will pass around this time,this date is when our planet is reborn and when the 12 houses of the zodiac restart,we are currently in the ‘night’,on oct 28 2011,we will enter the day,thegolden age of aquarius or the holy spirit,our spiritual mother.I believe that this dwarf/comet passes every 12,000-13000 when our planet is at a new dawn and the last time it passed it flipped Earth and destroyed Atlantis and lemuria,God has a reason for everything and as soon as the dust settles,we will reclaim our former glory stolen from satan & his minion.
I’d like to point out that my own spiritual leader (Dada Bhagwan) has said that WW3 is going to occur anytime between 2012-2022 and not after 2022, in this war we shall see 66% of the world population being wiped out, we shall see plagues, we shall see a balanced world out there. A few countries shall cease to exist.
Anyways my point is that when this does happen we shall mistaken the world as ending, but the world continues existing, those who shall live shall continue re-building and peace shall prevail for another 2000 years.
